This Video demonstrates, what we call, an industry standard drive for a bottom end. It uses balls to transfer torque to an outer housing. It works well when the balls are tight. It transfers torque through the CV joint to the bit. Problems occur when the horsepower of the power section becomes too great. The pockets the balls sit in stretch and become elongated. When the pockets elongate enough the housing will crack and have a catastrophic failure.
